The CIBU University Library offers relevant, focused materials to meet the needs of faculty, students and staff
Relax in a quiet, comfortable space carefully designed for users to meet and study. The university library contains a core collection of books, periodicals, newspapers and online resources. Users may check out books from the collection for a period of three weeks.
We are staffed by a professional librarian and library assistants. The staff is trained to assist users in their research, as well as formulating research methodology and formatting citations.

*Hours are often extended when evening classes are in session.

CIBU has partnered with other San Diego universities, and CIBU students may access their collections.
CIBU students can also use the resources at the San Diego Public Library and San Diego County Library. In order to check out books from their collections and use their databases, CIBU students must request a library card by showing two pieces of identification, one of which must have your picture on it. CIBU students also have access to the “Circuit” through San Diego County Library which allows students to access collections and check out books from other libraries in the San Diego area. “Link+” is also available through the San Diego County Library which allows CIBU students to access collections and check out books from libraries located throughout California.

The American Psychological Association (APA) offers specific instructions to assist CIBU students in producing APA style papers and dissertations. These guidelines can be accessed at www.apa.org. The CIBU Library also has the APA Publication Manual available in print format.
The Online Writing Lab at Purdue University (OWL) offers APA formatting examples to assist CIBU students in producing APA style papers and dissertations. The address for OWL is http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01. When linking to OWL, CIBU students need to follow the Fair Use Policy at http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/551/01.
The Library subscribes to the Library and Information Resources Network (LIRN) which provides electronic information resources, many of which are in full text, to support our academic and general studies. The ProQuest and InfoTrac databases are available in LIRN. LIRN can be accessed at www.lirn.net both in the CIBU Library and remotely on your own computer. CIBU students will receive the LIRN password via email from the CIBU IT Department. The LIRN password can also be requested from firstname.lastname@example.org.
